Kanas gets third soybean crush facility to boost rural economy
A Missouri-based agribusiness has announced plans for a $325 million soybean crush facility in Kansas and says the plant will benefit supply chains for renewable fuels, food products and animal feeds.
Bartlett announced last Tuesday the company will build a crushing plant with a handling capacity of nearly 39 million bushels in Southeast Kansas’s Montgomery County.
The company said the facility will produce soybean meal and refined soybean oil, feedstock used in producing renewable fuels, food products and animal feeds. Plant is expected to create about 50 jobs and process 110,000 bushels per day.
There are two other soybean crushing plants in Wichita operated by Cargill and in Emporia operated by Bunge North America Inc.
