USDA to conduct hemp survey

For the first time, the USDA will conduct a hemp acreage and production survey.

Surveys will be sent to more than 20-thousand producers next week.

The National Ag Statistics Service (NASS) will collect information on the total planted and harvested area of hemp, and its yield, production and value in the U.S.

Acting NASS administrator Kevin Barnes says the information collected will help producers make decisions about growing harvesting and selling hemp and about what type of hemp to produce. Completed surveys need to be mailed by October 25th and also can be done online.
