Biden plan to ease West Coast port delays

President Biden is launching a plan to ease shipping delays at West Coast ports that involves expanding hours 24/7.

Major shippers and major retailers, including Walmart, say they will expand nighttime hours to meet the need. The International Longshore and Warehouse Union says its members are willing to work extra shifts at the ports. The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles make up about 40% of shipping containers that enter the U.S. Biden says Transportation Secretary Buttigieg and Port Envoy Porcari will continue to work with all stakeholders to help more businesses access the expanded hours and move the rest of the supply chain towards 24/7 operations.
