Wet weather slows harvest progress in Tennessee

Harvest progress slowed in Tennessee as wet weather limited field activities. 

According to the USDA, corn is 67% harvested.  Two percent of the cotton crop has been harvested and 75% of bolls opening.  Soybean harvest is slightly behind the average with 22% cut and 77% of the crop is dropping leaves.   Ninety-four percent of tobacco has been cut. 

Pasture conditions are rated 63% rated good to excellent.  Winter wheat is 22% planted and 13 emerged.

Topsoil moisture is 95% and subsoil moisture is 89% adequate to surplus.
