Fall agritourism destinations hope to see you again
Ohio’s Farm Bureau president says this year’s apple harvest is turning out better than anticipated.
Bill Patterson operates an agritourism venue in Northeast Ohio.
“The crop came in a little on the light side as far as apples, there was some freeze in April, but we’ve very excited to see it’s actually picking out a lot better,” he says.
The seven-week season for his U-Pick is in full swing and Patterson tells Brownfield some of the added demand from the pandemic last year is carrying over.
“As you think about last fall, we were kind of the only game in town—farms were it,” he says.
This year, Patterson says there has been more competition from other activities that have opened back up and he’s hopeful last year’s family experience will continue to bring back customers.
Brownfield interviewed Patterson during the recent Ohio Farm Bureau Washington Leadership Experience.
