Soybean harvest still behind average pace in Tennessee

Weather slowed harvest progress for some parts of Tennessee, while others were full-steam ahead.  Yields have been good for all crops.

According to the USDA, corn is 57% harvested.  One percent of the cotton crop has been harvested and 55% of bolls opening and 64% of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is slightly behind the average with 15% cut, 62% of the crop is dropping leaves, and 75% is rated good to excellent.   Eighty-nine percent of tobacco has been cut. 

Pasture conditions are rated 64% rated good to excellent.  Winter wheat is 16% planted and 7% emerged.

Topsoil moisture is 83% and subsoil moisture is 89% adequate to surplus.
