Dry beans on final stretch of harvest
Michigan farmers had ideal conditions for crops much of last week despite a few rain events.
Corn condition is rated 70 percent of the crop rated in good to excellent with 95 percent dented, 77 percent is mature and corn silage harvest is 92 percent complete. Seventeen percent of corn was reported harvested for grain.
Soybeans are also 70 percent good to excellent, with 94 percent dropping leaves. Thirty-one percent of soybeans, 37 percent of sugarbeets and 84 percent of dry beans have been harvested—all ahead of average.
Apple harvest also continues.
