Corn harvest winds down in Arkansas, cotton and soybean harvest ramps up

Harvest continues to roll on in Arkansas as corn harvest nears completion.  Ninety-four percent of the state’s corn crop has been harvested. 

Rice harvest is 72% complete with 97% of the crop mature.   The cotton crop is 7% harvested with 97% of bolls opening.  Soybeans harvest is 33% complete, 61% of the crop is mature, and 63% is rated good to excellent.  Peanut harvest is 15% complete with 45% of the crop dug.

Pastures are rated 23% good to excellent.  Winter wheat is 10% planted with 3% emerged

Topsoil moisture is rated 52% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 51% adequate to surplus.
