Agropur to get Wisconsin tax break for new facility

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation will be helping a dairy plant expand.  Governor Tony Evers announced Monday the Agropur Dairy Cooperative in Little Chute, Wisconsin will benefit from up to 4.5 million dollars in business tax credits when they build a new 168-million-dollar state-of-the-art cheese facility.

Agropur will be eligible for the business tax credits over the next four years based on meeting hiring and capital expenditure goals.  Evers says this investment will be felt far beyond the farm.

Agropur is the largest dairy cooperative in North America and one of the top 20 dairy producers in the world.  In Wisconsin, Agropur operates facilities in La Crosse, Appleton, Little Chute, Weyauwega, and Luxemburg, employing about 850 employees.
