U.S. ethanol production down in August
The USDA says corn for ethanol use during August was 417.317 million bushels.
That was down 7% from July due to higher gas prices cutting into demand and uncertainties about Renewable Volume Obligations, but up 2% from August 2020, when production was constrained by COVID-19.
Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,827,378 tons, a decrease of 7% on the month, but an increase of 1% on the year.
The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out October 12th.
