Milk futures mixed, cash dairy trade lower

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed the week in limited activity while cash markets were lower, and grains still reeled from USDA’s Thursday reports.

October Class III milk up two cents at $18.13. November six cents lower at $18.21. December down a penny at $17.87. January three cents higher at $17.66. February through April contracts unchanged.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.58.

Blocks down $0.0225 at $1.81. One sale was made at that price.

Barrels down $0.01 at $1.7450. Two trades were made at that price.

Butter down $0.0125 at $1.7475. Eleven trades were made from $1.7475 to $1.7675.

Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.3975. Two trades were made at $1.3950 and $1.3975.
