Expect delays as house is delivered in Muscatine today

Expect delays on Monday, Sept. 27, as a “Homes for Iowa” house is delivered to Muscatine.

The route from the Highway 61 Bypass will take the home down Isett Avenue to Cypress to East 8th Street to Spring Street.

The move is expected between 1 and 4 p.m. Avoid the area if possible or find alternate routes during this time.

Homes for Iowa, Inc., is a nonprofit that exists to address Iowa’s housing shortage, train incarcerated offenders in skilled trades and reduce recidivism.
Homes for Iowa plans to build 875 moderately priced homes over the next 10 years in collaboration with Iowa Prison Industries.  Three-bedroom, two-bath ranch-style homes are being  built for individuals and families and delivered all over Iowa.
