No. 14 Iowa State (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) begins Big 12 play on Saturday, traveling to Baylor (3-0, 1-0 Big 12). Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on KWPC 860 AM & 95.1 FM, The Voice of Muscatine with coverage starting at 12:30 p.m., and FOX-TV.

ISU has won a Big 12-opener on the road twice, defeating TCU (2020) and Baylor (2000). Iowa State’s defense has been phenomenal, leading the nation in total defense (192.7).

The Cyclones have held four-straight opponents to under 100 yards rushing for the first time since 1946 and allowed only two offensive touchdowns this season, none in the second half.

Iowa State knocked off UNLV (48-3) on Saturday to give head coach Matt Campbell his 37th victory at ISU, the third-most in school history. The UNLV victory was ISU’s largest on the road (45 points) since in 1923.

In its last eight games dating back to 2020, ISU has given up just 25 points in the second half (excluding non-offensive TDs) and just one touchdown.

Iowa State’s defense ranks in the top-5 nationally in the following categories: total defense (1st, 192.7), yards per play (1st, 3.40), fewest 10-yard rushes (2nd, 2), yards per rush (3rd, 1.54) and rushing defense (4th, 49.3). All three of ISU’s opponents have averaged 1.7 yards per rush or less.

All-American RB Breece Hall tied a Big 12 record by rushing for a TD in his 15th consecutive game vs. UNLV. He shares the mark with Corby Jones (MU, 1997-98).

Hall has 37 career touchdowns, one shy from the ISU school mark of 38 shared by Troy Davis (1994-96) and Dexter Green (1975-78).
