Governor Walz announces $10 million in drought assistance for Minnesota farmers

Governor Walz has announced a $10 million drought relief package for Minnesota farmers.

Walz says historic drought conditions have created extreme stress and financial hardship, and the funding will help ensure farmers can keep feeding Minnesota and the world.

The Governor’s proposal includes $5 million in rapid response grants for livestock and specialty crop producers, and $5 million for the Rural Finance Authority’s Disaster Recovery Loan Program.

Governor Walz says the zero-interest program can be used to help cover lost revenue or expenses not covered by insurance.
