Pandemic Livestock Indemnity Program deadline extended

The USDA has extended the deadline for livestock and poultry producers to apply for the Pandemic Livestock Indemnity Program. The original deadline September 17th has been moved into next month. Producers who suffered losses during the pandemic because of insufficient access to processing can apply for assistance through October 12th. The program helps producers with animal losses between March first and December 26th of 2020.

Payments are based on 80% of the fair market value of the livestock and poultry AND for depopulation and disposal. Eligible livestock and poultry include swine, chickens and turkeys.
