Harvest slowly picking up in Nebraska

Several crop harvests are underway and progressing in Nebraska.

The USDA says corn harvest is underway in Nebraska and is rated 66 percent good to excellent with 90 percent dented and 35 percent mature.

Soybean harvest has begun but is slightly behind last year. The crop is rated 69 percent good to excellent with nearly half of the crop dropping leaves.

Winter wheat planting has reached 17 percent, four percent ahead of the average.

Sorghum harvest is ahead of last year out of the gate with the crop rated 48 percent good to excellent.

Pasture ratings are 80 percent fair or better.
