Corn maturing faster than normal in Iowa

The latest USDA crop report says nearly a third of Iowa’s corn acreage has reached maturity.

Soybean development is also ahead of normal with thirty percent dropping leaves.  There were also isolated reports of soybeans being harvested.

Farmers took advantage of more than six days suitable for fieldwork a week ago with the harvest of silage and hay advancing.
