One death, 175 new cases of COVID-19 reported last week in Muscatine County

One person died and 175 new cases of COVID-19 were reported last week in Muscatine County, while the county’s vaccination percentage now matches the statewide number.

According to data from Muscatine County Public Health released Friday morning, 12 percent of tests conducted over the previous seven days came back positive.

A total of 5,915 people have been infected with the coronavirus and 108 residents have died since the pandemic began in March 2020.

As of September 9, 21,544 (64%) of residents 18+ in Muscatine County and 1.62 million (64%) of adults 18+ in Iowa are fully vaccinated.

9,026 positive cases and 30 additional deaths statewide were reported last week, bringing the total to 450,915 cases and 6,337 deaths.
The statewide positive test rate was 9 percent.

You can also walk in most pharmacies without an appointment and get a vaccine at any time that is convenient for you.
