Kansas crops matching average development progress

Kansas crops are on pace to mature as the growing season winds down.

The latest crop progress report from the USDA says corn condition is rated 54 percent good-to-excellent with maturing three precent behind last year at 26 percent.

Eighty-six percent of soybeans have set pods with 12 percent dropping leaves.

Sorghum condition is rated at 56 percent good-to-excellent with 11 percent of the crop mature.

Cotton condition is rated 54 percent good-to-excellent.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 40 percent good-to-excellent.
