Muscatine Co. reports 134 new COVID cases, 60% of eligible residents fully vaccinated

Muscatine County Public Health reported 134 new positive cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, while 21,400 residents are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Data through 10 a.m. Friday showed an estimated 737 cases, an increase of 93 from the previous week. 11 percent of tests administered in the past week were positive.

The total number of cases since the pandemic began was 5,740. The death toll remained at 107, with no new deaths recorded over the last seven days.

40,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to residents in Muscatine County, with 21,400 Muscatine County residents completed vaccine administered in Muscatine County either by getting 2nd dose or only 1 required.

Muscatine County Public Health, 1609 Cedar Street, is doing walk in vaccination clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays. Call them with questions 563-263-0122. If you are severely immuno-compromised, you can get a booster shot now at Public Health.

You can also walk in most pharmacies without an appointment and get a vaccine at any time that is convenient for you.
