July corn for ethanol use up on month, year

The USDA says 449.121 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production during July 2021.

That’s an increase of 2% from June and 6% from July 2020, but the August numbers will likely be less friendly for demand due to concerns about COVID-19 infection rates, higher gas prices, and uncertainties about Renewable Volume Obligations.

Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,970,139 million tons, also up 2% on the month and 6% on the year.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use projection is out September 10th in the monthly supply and demand report.
