South Dakota crops & pastures continue struggle
South Dakota corn and soybean conditions worsened over the past week. As of Sunday, 45% of corn was in poor to very poor condition. Fifty-four percent is fair to good. Corn dough and denting are behind last year.
Forty-two percent of soybeans are in very poor to poor shape. Fifty-seven percent is fair to good. Setting pods and dropping leaves are in line with last year but ahead of the average.
Sorghum condition is 38% poor, 44% fair and 18% good. Development is close to the average.
Eighty-four percent of pastures and rangelands are in very poor to poor shape.
