Another Muscatine County resident died and 100 additional residents tested positive for COVID-19 between August 20 and 27, according to the latest update from the county’s health department.
Mayor Diana Broderson said the total number of deaths moved to 107 as of Friday morning, with 5,606 positive tests since the pandemic began. A total of 10 percent of tests came back positive last week. There were 644 active cases, an increase of 64.
There have been 39,600 doses of a coronavirus vaccine administered to Muscatine County residents, with 21,200, 59 percent of eligible residents, who have completed the required one or two doses.

1,593,557 completed series (2nd dose or only 1 required) in Iowa.Muscatine County Public Health, 1609 Cedar Street, is doing walk in vaccination clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays. Call them with questions 563-263-0122. They will do everything they can to help you get the vaccine and/or answer any questions.
You can also walk in most pharmacies without an appointment and get a vaccine at any time that is convenient for you. If you have missed your second vaccine, you can still go in at anytime to get the second dose. You do not need to start over. Please complete the series so you have effective coverage.
