IL farmer ready to learn at Farm Progress Show

A western Illinois farmer attending Farm Progress Show says it’s the place to see the ‘latest and greatest’ technology in agriculture.

“If it’s not at the Farm Progress Show, well then, it almost just doesn’t exist,” said Garrett Hawkins.

Hawkins tells Brownfield he goes to the show to keep up with emerging farm practices.

“Everything from new equipment to different regulation to everything in-between,” he said.

Hawkins said a previous trip to Farm Progress Show led him to start planting cover crops in the fall to protect waterways from pesticides and keep erosion down…

“That is one big thing that I am definitely looking forward to learning more about,” he said.

Farm Progress Show kicks off Tuesday in Decatur, Illinois.
