The Department of Public Works is taking applications for an Equipment Operator I to drive medium to heavy duty trucks hauling various materials, perform manual work in clearing work sites of debris, operate equipment to clean and repair sewer collection systems, and to operate other pieces of light, medium, or heavy equipment in the absence of regular operators or for training purposes. The Department of Administration is seeking an Office Assistant that will work for the Finance Department during the morning and the Human Resources Department in the afternoon. Among the duties will be receiving payments, issuing receipts, and maintain various records of funds collected. The position also sorts and distributes mail, acts as the telephone operator for City Hall, and serves as the clerical assistant in Human Resources. Applications accepted through September 3, 2021.

The Transfer Station is accepting applications for individuals to serve as a Substitute Refuse Collector on an as needed basis. Hours will vary depending on need. Individuals applying should be reliable, physically able to lift 75 pounds and be able to work flexible and early morning hours. The position will remain open until filled.

The Muscatine Fire Department is taking applications for firefighter. Firefighter work is performed as part of the Public Safety operations of the City of Muscatine. The work involves the performance of related emergency and non-emergency fire and medical duties in line with departmental operations, as well as maintenance of all firefighting and medical equipment, building, and grounds.
