MO State Fair swine exhibitor has sights on champion

FFA member Colin Humphreys is in his sixth year showing pigs at the Missouri State Fair. He tells Brownfield his goal is to eventually show the champion junior borrow.

“We’ve done pretty good at shows, and we’re satisfied with what we get but it would mean a lot,” Humphreys said.

Humphreys says while it was nice having only a livestock show in place of last year’s fair, the fair allows those outside of agriculture to learn about livestock.

“Last year, it was just the livestock people, which was pretty nice,” he said. “And then this year, there’s a lot more people walking around and we’re getting to show them the livestock, it’s pretty good too.”

Humphreys is exhibiting a chester barrow in the show.
