Michigan crops benefit from rain

With recent rainfall, nearly 75% of Michigan corn crops are now rated good to excellent, as of Sunday. Forty-two percent of the crop is entering the silking stage of pollination, much earlier than normal.

Soybean condition in the state held steady at 64 percent rated good to excellent. Near ideal growing conditions have been reported in some areas.

The dry bean crop is starting to recover from water damage in previous weeks.
