The Muscatine High School softball team was knocked out of the playoffs on Tuesday, dropping a 7-2 decision to Bettendorf in the Class 5A Region 8 Championship.
The Muskies, who spent much of the season ranked number one in the state, end the year with a 35-4 record.
Muskie baseball split a doubleheader with Fort Madison on Senior Night, dropping game one 12-1 and taking the nightcap 4-2, to conclude the regular season with a 22-14 mark.
Muscatine will host Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the Class 4A Substate First Round on Friday at 7 p.m. at Tom Bruner Field.
