Ethanol exports fall in May

U.S. ethanol exports fell 38% from April to May.

The Renewable Fuels Association says sales of 70.4 million gallons included a 74% drop for India, a 2% decline to Canada, and a 5% loss for Mexico, which canceled out increases for China, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia.

Year to date sales are 582.4 million gallons, 11% behind the year ago pace.

Sales of distillers dried grains with solubles were over a million tons, jump of 21% on the month, with more than a quarter of that going to Mexico, with month-to-month increases for Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Colombia, and Thailand.

Year to date DDGS sales are 4.49 million tons, 9% above this time last year.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out July 12th.
