With Independence Day falling on Sunday in 2021, most offices and departments of the City of Muscatine will be closed on Monday, July 5, in recognition and celebration of our nations’ independence. There will be no refuse collection on July 5, and no bulky waste collection on July 5 or July 6.
The Muscatine Fire Department, Muscatine Police Department, and MUSCOM will be staffed but administrative offices for each department will be closed on Monday, July 5. Public Works staff will be “on-call” as needed throughout the holiday period.
Departments and offices located at Muscatine City Hall and various other locations throughout Muscatine will be closed Monday, July 5, but will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6.

· REFUSE COLLECTION – There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Monday, July 5. Residents on the Monday route will have their refuse collected on Tuesday, July 6, along with the regular Tuesday route.
· RECYCLING COLLECTION – There will be no change to the curbside recycling schedule.
· BULKY WASTE COLLECTION – There will be no bulky waste collection on Monday, July 5. There will also be no bulky waste collection on Tuesday, July 6, due to the double route refuse collection that day.
· COMPOST FACILITY – The Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will be open on Sunday, July 4, and Monday, July 5, from 12-6 p.m.

· MUSSER PUBLIC LIBRARY & HNI COMMUNITY CENTER – The Musser Public Library will be closed on Sunday, July 4, and Monday, July 5. The Library will resume normal hours on Tuesday, July 6.
