Consistent rainfall helped improve soil conditions in much of Indiana last week.

According to the USDA’s latest crop progress and condition report, much needed rain blanked the northern part of the state and warm and dry conditions spurred winter wheat harvest in southern Indiana.

Seventy-three percent of the state’s corn crop and 71 percent of soybeans are in good to excellent condition.

Twenty five percent of winter wheat is harvested, and 76 percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.
