Lane switch coming to Park Avenue on Monday

Lane restrictions will be switched on Park Avenue early Monday (June 28) morning as the Park Avenue 4-to-3 Lane Conversion Project enters the final phases of the project. Lane restrictions are currently in place on the west side of Park Avenue (Washington to Clay) and will be flipped to the east side of Park Avenue (Washington to Colorado) starting at 4 a.m. Monday.

The final phase of the full depth patching of Park Avenue will also begin on Monday once the lane switch has been accomplished. The current schedule has the (Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) patching, intake modifications, and installation of sidewalk ramps compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements to be completed by July 16.

The final stages is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 19 with hot mix asphalt milling and paving along with paint stripping. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by August 20, weather permitting.

Drivers are reminded to slow down and use caution when travelling through construction zones, obey traffic control devices, and be aware of workers. Use an alternate route if possible.
