MO Governor Parson signs bill limiting ag inspections
Governor Mike Parson has signed House Bill 574 which limits the power to inspect ag facilities in the state.
The legislation, sponsored by State Representative Kent Haden, limits inspections authority to the Missouri Department of Agriculture, USDA, county sheriff and state and federal agencies with statutory authority.
The act helps ensure groups without regulatory authority don’t inspect farming operations to release or impound livestock. The legislation goes into effect August 28th.
