In Tennessee: 96% cotton and 72% soybeans planted
A week of wet weather has limited field activities across much of Tennessee.
Corn planting is 99% complete, with 96% emerged and 73% rated good to excellent. Cotton planting is 96% complete with 8% squared and 73% rated good to excellent. Soybeans are 72% planted and 59% emerged, 80% of the crop is rated good to excellent. Ninety percent of the winter wheat crop is coloring and 4% is harvested.
Pastures are rated 63% good to excellent, with the improvement coming from the week’s rain. The first cutting of hay is 47% complete and 42% of tobacco has been transplanted.
Topsoil moisture is 93% and subsoil moisture is 91% adequate to surplus.
