Should consumers be worried about a shortage of meat at the grocery store?
The recent cyberattacks on JBS, one of the world’s largest meat processors, shut down about 25% of beef processing in the US and also created disruptions to pork and poultry processing.
While these disruptions were short-lived and aren’t likely to cause any shortages to consumers at the grocery store this time – it does show some vulnerability in the supply chain – how the meat you buy makes its way from the farmer to the grocery store.
