The adventure awaits for those who dare during Summer Reading 2021 sponsored by the Musser Public Library and HNI Community Center. The program will take children, teens, and families on a quest through the City of Muscatine parks system.

The Musser Public Library wants to make sure that patrons of all ages have the information they need to participate, and have teamed up with the Parks and Recreation Department for a quest that will bring families into the library and back out into the sunshine in search of fun, challenges, and prizes.

Summer Reading 2021 officially kicked off Tuesday (June 1) with registration at the Musser Public Library and online. There is still time to join the adventure so stop by the Library between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to register. Don’t have time to stop by? Sign up online here!

“Summer Quest 2021” encourages all ages to read for pleasure, and to build their brains as well as their bodies during vacation from school. As always, participants may read books to earn prizes; and this year they can also choose to select a Summer Reading Quest to unlock clues for tokens to be found throughout the city parks. The first 200 children and teens to enroll will receive a water bottle with the Library and City Parks and Rec logos, as well as all the related Summer Reading materials.

Read for prizes and join a Quest: Pirates, Kingdoms, Game On, Magic School, Fandoms Unite, or Readers Assemble! We’ve got you covered, thanks to Friends of Musser Library, CBI Bank & Trust.

Summer Reading is free of charge and open to all. Musser Library extends a big thank you to Parks and Rec for their partnership in Summer Quest 2021.
