Arkansas crop update: 92% cotton and 96% rice planted

Cotton, peanut, and rice planting is starting to wind down, while soybean planting continues to progress.  Corn is 96% emerged and 75% rated good to excellent.  Cotton is 92% planted and 65% emerged with 90% rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are 95% planted, 77% emerged, and 98% rated good to excellent.  Rice is 96% planted and 89% emerged with 77% rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 81% planted and 67% emerged with 83% rated good to excellent. 

Winter wheat is 95% headed and 70% coloring.  Hay cutting is 27% complete and ranted 55% good to excellent.  Pastures are rated 59% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 92% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 89 percent adequate to surplus.
