NCGA, states target DC decision-makers with corn reputation campaign
The National Corn Growers Association is targeting a new series of messages at Washington D.C. lawmakers to highlight the impact of America’s corn farmers.
Sara Schoenborn with the Wisconsin Corn Growers tells Brownfield there are many lawmakers who can benefit from the new corn reputation messages. “When you are disconnected from or not directly involved in agriculture, you rely on the information that is provided to you so this campaign is designed to help bridge that gap and provide interesting and factual information to those who make key policy decisions.”
Schoenborn says the corn reputation campaign is different because the messages are targeted directly at what they call key policy influencers. “So that’s anybody from legislators and elected officials to their aides, to just those who are around D.C. and helping to influence America’s laws.”
Schoenborn says every farmer has a unique story and history, but they all share common sustainability and efficiency goals. She says interviews with several Midwestern farmers are featured in the campaign.
