Nebraska farmer calls market run-up a ‘roller coaster’

South-Central Nebraska farmer Andy Jobman says the run-up in the grain market has been a ‘roller coaster’ to navigate. “We started selling earlier in the year when we had great prices at that time and they’ve become even better since then,” Jobman says. “We’ve been trying to be patient since then and price it along the way and ride this thing up.”

But the corn and soybean grower near Gothenburg tells Brownfield, he’s remaining cautious. “See where it ends up going, try not to get too overcommitted too early but I think that’s hard to do with good prices after a year where everything was in the dump.”

Jobman serves as the Nebraska Corn Growers Association President.
