46% of Indiana corn, 36% of soybeans planted

Planting progress in Indiana slowed when cold and wet conditions returned last week.

According to the latest USDA crop progress and condition report, corn and soybean planting fell behind last year’s pace.

Forty-six percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 48 percent last year.

Thirty-six percent of soybeans in Indiana are planted, compared to 35 percent last year.

Seventy-three percent of winter wheat is rated good to excellent.
