2020 U.S. soybean crush up 6% from 2019

The USDA says 2020’s domestic soybean crush was up 6% from 2019 at 66,223,435 tons.

That’s because of a bigger crop and positive margins for much of the year, with solid demand for soybean meal and soybean oil.

U.S. soybean oil production rose 5% to 25.373 billion pounds and soybean meal for feed use production was also above the previous year at 48,034,394 tons.

The January crush of 5,895,360 tons was up 101,127 on the month and 231,597 on the year.

The USDA’s next soybean crush estimate is out March 9th.
