Some food production workers in next vaccine tier

Some of Missouri’s food production workers, along with grocery and convenience store employees will be in the state’s next COVID-19 vaccination tier starting in about two weeks.

Governor Mike Parson says tier three (of phase one), which begins March 15th, will allow 550-thousand more Missourians to be eligible for vaccines.

“Tier three represents another very important part of our society. They are the workers in many of the industries we depend on each day to keep our day-to-day lives operating normally.”

Also in tier three are pre-school through 12th grade teachers, school staff and state-licensed child care workers.

Parson says vaccine supplies are still limited but he expects slow and steady increases.
