World Food Price Laureates ask Biden to make global hunger a top priority
More than twenty World Food Prize Laureates are asking the Biden administration to take immediate action to address global hunger and food insecurity.
In a letter, the laureates are asking the administration to re-establish American global leadership to end hunger, play a leadership role in the upcoming UN Food Systems Summit, refresh evidence-based policy and investment to achieve the goal of ending hunger, and expand USAID Feed the Future Initiative and innovation Labs to reach more countries.
They say that American leadership on improving food systems will inspire and embolden others to join forces to end hunger, counter climate, generate jobs, and promote responsible environmental stewardship.
The World Food Prize Laureates last came together for a global call to action 19 years ago. The World Food Prize Foundation says it supports its Laureates and echoes the need for U.S. leadership on global hunger.
