Argentine grain group hikes corn, soybean estimates

The Rosario Grain Exchange has raised projections for Argentina’s corn and soybean crops.

Planting in Argentina was delayed by dry weather, but January rainfall has improved prospects even as most of the nation experiences a drier pattern this month.

The exchange sees soybeans at 49 million tons, up 2 million from January, and has corn at 48.5 million tons, 2.5 million tons higher than last month.

Argentina is the world’s leading exporter of soybean products and a significant global supplier of soybeans, corn, and wheat.

The USDA estimates Argentina’s soybean crop at 48 million tons and corn at 47.5 million tons.
