Ohio Master Farmers are committed to conservation

Two farmers have been awarded as Ohio Master Farmers for their efforts to leave their farms and communities better for future generations.

Community involvement has been a long-time passion for Matt Aultman of Greenville.  The Drake County Commissioner currently operates a diversified farm which he tells Brownfield fuels his desire to keep learning. “We like the diversity on the farm and every year try to find something new,” he says.

Greg Waidelich of Amanda has been a promoter of conversation for nearly four decades on his 1,700-acre crop farm. “If you have more topsoil, consequently you can raise better crops and better crops make you more money,” he says.

The winners will also be recognized during the upcoming Ohio Conservation Tillage & Technology Virtual Conference this March.

The Ohio Master Farmers were nominated by their peers and selected for their exceptional management, innovation, conservation, leadership, and community involvement.

The awards are presented by the Ohio Farmer Magazine and sponsored by Brownfield Ag News and the Ohio Conservation Tillage & Technology Conference.
