Phase 1b vaccines should begin mid-February for Muscatine

Gov. Kim Reynolds on Thursday announced that Iowa is now expanding COVID-19 vaccines to phase 1B to include Iowans, age 65 and older along with essential workforce.

Muscatine County Public Health Department is still working through vaccinating phase 1A (healthcare & long term care facilities) and will not be finished until mid-February.

“We do not have a waiting list nor do we have the vaccine for this new phase. Phase 1B is anticipated to begin in mid-February,” the agency said in a Facebook post.

Health officials say they will provide guidance in the next couple of weeks on how and where individuals of this target population can access their COVID-19 vaccine.
