Missouri Farm Bureau legislative priorities for ’21

The Missouri Farm Bureau says it supports many of the foundational issues for Missouri Farm Bureau in the current legislative session.

B.J. Tanksley, director of state legislative affairs, tells Brownfield Ag News, lists “Supporting a strong Department of Agriculture, looking at our state’s infrastructure including transportation and broadband. And, of course, one issue that’s always been on top of our members’ lists is protecting property rights.”

Tanksley says Missouri Farm Bureau also supports renewing three expiring tax credits in Missouri Agricultural & Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA).

The Missouri legislative session kicked off January 6th. The Missouri House cancelled its session this week because of COVID-19 cases among members.

Missouri Farm Bureau adopted eight new policies for 2021 in their December 2020 annual meeting. They will update policy again in June 2021.
