Pork Checkoff changes marketing direction

The National Pork Board is making changes to its marketing message in 2021.  In a statement issued by the pork checkoff, they say they intend to capitalize on the latest research and opportunities with a goal of evolving perceptions for pork in a healthy diet and overall nutritional well-being.

The new federal nutrition guidelines released Tuesday reaffirm the role of lean pork in a healthy diet, but the board says their At Home Meat Tracker shows pork continues to lag behind other proteins when it comes to consumer perceptions of being good for them.

The checkoff program says they will bring a new look and new messages to help consumers understand the health benefits of pork.  The board will continue research efforts and they are planning a January wellness campaign showing how pork fits into healthy lifestyles.
