Casey’s leader says future of biofuels is bright

The vice president of fuels at Casey’s says the future for biofuels is bright.

Nathaniel Doddridge says the company is currently offering E15 and higher blends of ethanol at more than 300 locations.

“We actually changed the name of E15 to Unleaded 88 about 18 months ago and the reason we did that was really to gain alignment within our industry,” he says. “We really have called E15 so many different things and so how do we gain alignment— we create uniformity.”

He says Casey’s believes that ethanol will continue to be the blendstock of choice.

“It will continue to add value,” he says. “There’s still that balance of ethanol and RINS that we’re going through right now so having that full line on your supply economics will continue to be really important for us.”

Doddridge made these comments during the virtual Indiana Corn and Soybean Ag Forum.

Caseys, the fourth largest retailer in the country, has nearly 2300 retail locations. Sixty percent of the businesses are in towns with a population of 5,000 or less.
