Elanco Animal Health selects Indiana as home for global headquarters
Elanco Animal Health has selected downtown Indianapolis as the location for its future global consolidated operations.
Elanco says the move represents another step in the company’s plan to capture economic value through global footprint consolidation after its August acquisition of Bayer’s animal health business.
The company will relocate its global headquarters, currently located in Greenfield, Indiana, to a 45-acre former industrial site in the southwest corner of Indianapolis. Elanco says it will retain 1,600 jobs and create more than 570 jobs over the next ten years.
Elanco’s new campus design will feature a smaller, more flexible post-COVID concept. The company says it envisions a more collaborative and sustainable space with at least 25 percent less office space than its current headquarters.
Elanco President and CEO Jeff Simmons says he is pleased Elanco can serve as a catalyst through its global headquarters and base of future consolidated operations and capabilities in Indiana.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb says Elanco is an important asset to Indiana and is poised to grow and continue innovating.
The project is expected to take two to three years to complete.
